Wow I'm shocked not only did I actually finish a story for Blood Roses Summer challenge (okay it's not the B/A 90% of the people on that list would write but it is definitely something I would) I also finished the CYA story. God it's a depressing one. Now to edit the buggars.

I scrapped the Lindsey story idea. It would have been too long and angsty and that wouldn't have been what the challenger wanted. Going somewhere else with it. ANd I have a good idea for the Hell ficathon but I'm not sure my idea of hell will be what people are expecting.

Pimping - I think there's a few days left on [livejournal.com profile] blaar_rosir 's Dream ficathon, it's a neat idea. You get to write the characters' dreams. And [livejournal.com profile] leni_ba has the Behind the Scene's ficathon started. You get to pick up one of those dropped threads (like how the heck did Angel get into Kate's apartment uninvited to save her) and there's two modes, you suggest the bts sequence you want and it goes into the pot for assignment to someone else OR if YOU really want to write that scene you'll get assigned your suggestion. Cool. It's so hard to pick but you can do more than one...

Instead of tearing up the library because the two hard copies I had of  two chapters of the novel AND a very well received short story of mine that had been sitting on the to-do pile for a while and are now MISSING (the hard drive crashed and I needed to retype these things) I'm curbing my considerable temper and decided to pimp stuff instead.

Award Sites

The Bite Me Awards - pretty much wide open pairing wise, nominations closing first week in August

Still His Girl Awards - this is closing nominations in a few days mostly B/A a few other pairings, putting out a real call for a) action and b) B/Angelus

The Dark Awards - Dark fic. lots of very unusual and interesting categories, also closing for nominations soon.

Fic Reccs - I had more. I never remember to make notes on what I liked. Heck a great deal of[livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday 's Eye related drabbles are well worth the read

[livejournal.com profile] blaar_rosir 's Give It Up and Interruptions with Promise they're both Cordelia/Doyle (for that ficathon) and they're very cute

[livejournal.com profile] catlove 's Of Light, Hair and Courage is also Cordelia/Doyle and very sweet

[livejournal.com profile] leni_ba 's Search Spike centric and nicely tense

[livejournal.com profile] bashipforever 's Living Hell B/A, quite bittersweet

Oh happy day. I found TWO copies of the missing novel (no signs of that damn short story) chapters. Bad news they're far too heavy with editing marks but at least they can be retyped in!

Been getting very weak, exhausted, dizzy and nauseated in the early afternoon for the past few weeks. Thouhgt it might be attributed to stress/lack of sleep (which is surely part of it). Decided to test my blood sugar during an episode today since this is classic for low blood sugar. Instead, my blood sugar was 250. Certainly stress can account for this in spite of the diet and pills (since that's over 100 points higher than my norm). I know that certain foods make me loopy too.

That said, going to have to ask all my friends that like to send me gourmet foods as gifts (since we all know I'm into gourmet cooking) to alter what they send as gifts. As much as I've enjoyed them in the past, I'm going to have to ask your not send me the following:
- Desserts (brownies, cake mixes, cookies, candies) unless they're made with Splenda (I'm allergic to Nutrasweet)
- Pasta
- rice
- potato/corn chips and their like

I'd feel guilty about not eating them and wasting your money so other things might be found that are better for me (plenty of gourmet packaged foods out there that aren't covered by that)

Sigh. Now to figure out WHY I've had a temperature of 99-100 for nearly three months now. I go back to the doctor for that in on Monday
