I tried to write you up a little story (since I just found out today and all) as part of the cd lyric challenge of crazy girl mary's (well it would be part of a chapter) but it took over an hour trying to find SOMETHING other than Galway City (since I wanted Ireland). Ireland tourism has some of the worst websites I've ever seen. grump.

Maybe I'll have it tomorrow. Well better get back to that Connor story. He's actually wanting to talk to me tonight (granted it's about sex and what boy doesn't want to talk that?)

Halloween Challenge

Here's a very simple challenge for you for Halloween. It was made for the SUnnydale Writers but why not post it here and see if any on my Flist wants to play. I'm not one for complicated challenges with lots of things you have to have in it so I'll make it simple:

1) it can be BtVS, AtS or both
2) Any time period you want
3) any kind of ship or NO ship for those of us who prefer action to romance
4) it can be Halloween or Samhain
5) set it anywhere, California or otherwise.

the only must haves:
1) someone has to be in costume (I don't care who. If you want to have Principal Synder in costume for the school party, go for it, Fred and Cordy trying to cajole the boys into dressing up and having kids into the Hyperion, go nuts)
2) someone has to be questioning an alcoholic drink choice of a friend. Since a lot of us aren't drinkers here's a very helpful link http://www.webtender.com/ just go to browse and I suggest that you browse by name you'll find PLENTY of things you can't believe people would drink (and no pop ups)

That's it (oh if you decide on a historical fic you can bend the two must haves a little. I know a lot of historic drinks but I'm not sure when exactly American's started dressing up for Halloween. If you're setting the story elsewhere, keep in mind not everyone dresses up for Halloween so people might be looking at the characters funny)

Flooding

Just talked to my parents. Spin off storms from Ivan have whacked the crap out of my home town near the tristate corner of PA, WV and OH (about 25 miles from Pittsburgh). The storms were far worse than expected causing the worst flooding in history there. It took them by surprise so much that the kids are actually still stranded in the high school. My brother took 2 hours to get home...less than 5 miles away because of all the flooding. My mom nearly ended up spending the night in a hotel because of it. My parents live on top of a huge hill so there's no fear of them having problems.

However my brother's sister in law was supposed to get married tomorrow but it's a state of emergency now. Sadly, I don't feel bad. She's been so miserable to me and my family and to her own sister (how dare her younger sister get married before her) that I can't help the vaguely amused karma got you feeling.
