why hospital beds have tents over the feet...slept badly again (the night before it was just anxiety to the point of 'rug burn' from the flannel sheets on my face from thrashing, and blood everywhere from bitten lips and scratched arms) The pressure of the sheet on my foot felt like an elephant was sitting on it. Might try to use the back of the chair tonight to rig up a tent.

The foot's a beautiful blue and is about twice it's normal size. Sigh. It snowed. Screw it. I'll worry this afternoon about it because I can barely walk at this point. It's grey out, probably snow more any how.

ETA - just looked out the kitchen window. It must have snowed 5-6 inches. I'm so screwed.

Holy Crap

See, Dad's right, I'm pretty sure I've pissed off some deity or another. There was at least 7 inches of drifted snow out there and it took over an hour to shovel it. To say my back and foot hurt is an understatement.

Actually the ankle felt much better once it was in my snow boot(no surprise, plenty of support there) but wiggling it in was painful, getting it back out was worse. I have combat boots I could wear to work but they hurt on a normal day getting them on. I have no prayer of stuffing balloon foot into them.

I did find out that the compression bandage that came with my air cast has a pocket for the ice pack (the nurse put the bandage on so I didn't see that until I took it off last night for a bath). I got the ice pack in it now but it was like trying to get a condom over a limp dick. Sheesh, I'm not about to take it out again. Need to go dig and see if I have an ace bandage. And I'm thinking I might have an anterior lateral collateral ligament tear. It feels like a defecit but it's hard to tell from the swelling (and the bruise extends all the way to the sole of the foot.

Talked to the lawyer today about these 'out of pocket expenses' of his before I sign off on them. He says they're low and mostly just postage and photocopying doctor's files. here's hoping! I'm gonna sign off.

And from Masq...okay so I'm the half crazed dude. Sounds right

Yuck. Now I'm sick (because there's nothing like trying to bend over a toilet on one foot). Not sure if it's the medicine, something I ate or the power of suggestion. Eat some frozen food then saw that the other item in the box (a pair of panna cotta) did NOT have a safety seal (obviously the one I ate did or I wouldn't have touched it). Not sure if I'm honestly sick or so freaked out by the defective food I've made myself sick (I have a strange paranoia about being poisoned so...) Regardless, my head is hurting and my stomach is turning inside out. Yuck.

And in case I forgot to mention it, the foot I hurt is on the same side as my bad knee which has now gone out because it has to go through strange motions thanks to the air cast requiring to be picked up straight and put down (No ankle motion which is why I'm supposed to be on crutches) These leaves all my weight on my left ankle...the one that's half fused and arthritic from being shattered in 6 places when I was a kid. Oh this is not going to be fun.

On a happier note check out my new fic. Well one's new, two others aren' t but they ARE polished up (well 30 pieces will be finished tomorrow).

Thirty Pieces of Silver - A dark We/Lilah story written for the Stoner ficathon, so there is drug use in this.

Myself Am Hell - Written for the Hell ficathon. Lilah/Wes (with a side order of Lindsey), this is Lilah's hell. It looks a lot like the nursing homes I used to work in.

And the new piece written for the Warm Champagne challenge (or so I hope. It's in the word count limit but not the page limit which don't come close to jiving unfortunately) Anyhow  Finding Faith is a Faith & Spike "Spin Off". Children are disappearing from around the Hellmouth in Cleveland and Faith gets unexpected help from Spike, Angel and Connor. (this does need more description and what not so feel free to suggest away)

Ugh, there goes my stomach again...
