Not much happening here, trying to plan out my future, realizing it's just not interesting so I'm just floundering around trying to pump up the resume in some vague hope there'll be work out there that might interest me and filling in spaces with reading books, some of which make me wonder why it is I'm still unpublished (and ditto for half my flist) because quite frankly we're all better than this crap.

My major achievement for the weekend? Got the plastic up over three windows and got shocking proof of just HOW leaky the windows in this place are. The plastic is billowing so much I can't get the mini blinds down. Maybe this will cut down the fuel expense since I'm already trying to stretch 4 days worth of food into 7 days and the only thing I have left to sacrifice is my internet connection. I'd rather go a little hungry than lose the 20$/month therapy this offers me.

Beginning to wonder if I shouldn't ask to see those x-rays of my foot again. My foot's still blue nearly 2 weeks after the fall right over an area that really looked suspicious on x-ray but there was nothing concrete. Oddly enough that's NOT where it hurts. It actually has gotten to the annoying point in recovery, the point where it doesn't throb any more nad you forget it's still healing and try to move too fast or in a way you shouldn't and it brings you to your knees.

Did get Kristi's story done. Just getting it cleaned up for all of you enjoying "Just a Devil" and got ch 6 of Built on Lies out to my betas (thanks Maren, Kat) for those of you who are enjoying the strange Buffy/Connor thing going on there.

And lastly meme's from Ragna

Okay I can definitely LIVE with this only, he needs to find a better wardrobe.

Which is just funny since Penguin Boy is one of the few people on my flist that has actually met me in person. No pictures necessary.

I wanted to say THANK YOU  to all of you who voted for me in the Bedtime story awards Reader choice awards, for short under 2500 word stories (and again the ol' Flist did well especially [livejournal.com profile] bashipforever  who totally kicked butt). This to me is the mystery of awards, getting best author/story and yet really not winning in the categories. It's happened to me before and every time I just kinda go huh? But hey, who am I to fuss about pretty awards?

Armor won the bronze for best pov. It's rfrom Queen C's pov as she comes back to school for the first time after getting impale in the old factory. Read more... )

And then I got the bronze and a gold in the two author specific categories Read more... )

so cool.

And apropos of nothing, my new class are much more entertaining and easy to work with. They are eager to learn, they participate, they can't use a microscope to save their souls but you can't have everything.

and otherwise wasting time (especially since LJ ATE the first run of this post). I should be typing especially since the story is finally talking to me (and man is Connor being a dick). But I think dinner just needs to settle. It was guilty pleasure dinner, chili cheese dogs.

Got this from Rahirah. Truth telling time, I didn't get far outside the airport in Texas and spent only a few moments in New Mexico. I don't honestly remember much about Iowa and Montana (rolling pub crawls whilst living in South Dakota, entirely possible that I've rolled thru North Dakota too and can't remember). I obviously have had no reason to visit the far northwest (though I want to) nor the deep south (and I really feel no pressing need).
