1). clean this pigsty
2) weed that garden. OMG it's like the plastic weed stopper doesn't exist and today it's 90+ with equal humidity. gross.

3) the task I had in mind when I started this post. I'm thinking of combining and updating two old short stories into one more comphrensive piece. I've mentioned these stories b efore when I asked where would you like to see them placed since they were set in New Orleans and I did sell one of them back before Poppy Brite and the countless others made that city even MORE cliched.

That magazine folded before it could see print. As I was digging in the files I realized that I still had an old cover letter and ironically enough it dated to 1996 and it was to the same editor from circlet press who bought my story this year. Is amused.

Basically about the only thing I can salvage is the dialogue and even that has to be updated since wow, some of it is comic bookish (i.e. written out dialect). New Orleans was almost a character in this. Now it'll be Vegas.

But I'll need to research things. LIke where would the wealthy vampire live? In a private suite in the hotel...not as private as he might like. In a gated community? probably better. I think Luc can be a valet for a casino (I'll ask my cousin about doing that work since that's what he does)

Wonders if there are any big citywide parties there ala Mardi Gras (which was featured in the story). I could, of coure, invent my own casino and have IT have a big annual party ...

I cleaned three rooms of my house.

I weeded my garden. My god, it's growing THROUGH the plastic. If my damn plants had half the tenacity of this grass I'd have an award winning garden

Kyo amused me. For one, he stayed in all day with me. He went out when I started lugging the recyclables to the car. TOday was an honest dog day of summer here, mid 90's, 90 percent humidity and it was really his FIRST such day since he was a baby. Kyo, we think, was born in August so I'm giving him Granny's birthday just so I have something to remember. I doubt he cares. This summer has been beautiful. Today was one of those 'wish i had a pool' stinkers. Kyo wasn't outside more than ten minutes before he came screaming in. He wouldn't go back out until nightfall.

I did make a mistake and overate today. Well I didn't think one piece of Long John's fish (no groceries here. I was supposed to leave tomorrow, not going til monday now) 4 shrimp and that measley clam offering WAS all that much. My stomach freaked, especially since I haven't been eating much all week. I took the reglan to move it along. That didn't help. Getting sick three hours later (by then the stomach SHOULD have been empty) helped lots.

Happiness Day 2

1. I have three clean rooms that look and smell good
2. my garden is as good as it's gonna get. picture time
3. my rose is blooming
4. i got my shipment from Magical Omaha an alt religion clearning house and has lots of jewelry, incense, perfumes, soaps etc. I got some Shoyeido which has to be some of the finest I've ever smelled (they've been at it 300+ years) though I must have ordered one wrong. I have that one. Eh, holiday gift for someone and I got Blood soap from Villainess (what's nice is at Omaha I can buy diverse things and get it all for one shipping...) And there was the cotton candy perfume in there too that mom wanted since she kept stealing mine (not quite the same one. they don't carry it any more. Pity. Complete strangers come up to me every time i wear it to compliment me)
