I'm tired of peeing by flashlight

Almost had to get mean at work. I know my friend L is going thru a lot of shit with the breast cancer recovery. Yelling at me and slamming a door in my face when I had done nothing isn't going to go over well. It's childish and unprofessional and I will point it out (and she can't handle criticism at the best of times).

ALMOST finished editing Soldiers of the Sun during a test today. They did so well. 90% scored 80 and above. It's NICE to have a class that listens and takes this seriously (it helps that they're older students who came up when students were taught how to study and know that their jobs are on the line. Do this and get your BSN or get gone is pretty much the fate of the 2 year associate degree nurse (it was dumb to ever go that route in the first place).

Mom and Dad are leaving at the ass crack of dawn to go on vacation tomorrow. They had wanted to go south but what isn't on fire is flooding so they went to New England. They haven't been there in years (not since Dad has developed this romance for the desert country that mom hates). They've always wanted to go to Acadia Nat'l Park in Maine so here's hoping it's fun. After this suck ass year they need it, especially Mom.

My fun will be my brother visiting. Whee. How I will clean this place and buy a futon for me to sleep on in less than 3 weeks since my arm is getting weaker by the day. Fun times. Bite me tendonitis.

I typed our faculty governance meeting minutes from 9 til quarter after midnight. Gah. I've already told them I'm not reupping for another two years. I volunteer for too much as is. This bites.

So I tell evil Little Dog that I'm not going to volunteer to take on more at work

and in less than a week's time I've volunteered to help write the policy for the non-Christian religious holidays (since we already get off the major Christian ones) and ended up being put in charge of that, help write the transgendered policies and today the dean and provost volunteered me to do extra training to help better serve veterans. I said yes. And two weeks ago I volunteered to be a safe zone ally for our LGBT students (also requiring extra training). And oh I volunteered to read a banned book for banned book week.

Please. Someone stop me.

Story help I'm working on my 1930s demon hunters story and I'm looking for a derogatory term for an Indian servant. I know there pretty much had to be one during the British colonial period but I can't find anything online. Does anyone know? Thanks.


Mom and Dad made it to CT. Mom asked me to call Aunt S2 to keep her in the loop (i.e. threw me under the bus since Aunt S2 does nothing but talk). I did learn something I didn't know. They're quite religious so I was very surprised to learn that her identical twin the now-passed Aunt S1 could read cards and predict the future with such accuracy it frightened her and she stopped. And their Irish great-granny did the same with coffee grinds. Interesting.

I had to go to Jackson during the apple fest parade day to get something from the library and the store. I did get an apple and I did NOT over buy at the library book sale. In fact they had almost no mysteries or fantasy. Either it sold out in the first two days. I only got 3 books (well 8 but the 5 paperbacks are romances for Aunt S2)
