Are you freaking kidding me?

this article about how a Delta plane leaving Logan airport for Dublin (i.e. my exact flight) clipped the building, was mildly WTF yesterday but today I learn that it's fucked up MY flight tomorrow. It took out two planes for minor damage but that made an 'equipment change' for my flight.

SOOOO that upgraded seat I paid for? Toss that in the bin. They're doing a hunger games for seats at the gate because the replacement is a smaller plane. In theory I have a seat but every step of the online check in was a 'you DO want to change your flight, we'll give you money' prompt. No I really DON'T. Not only that in spite of me selecting seats on ALL my flights ONLY the Boston to Dublin one was there because 'all of them had equipment changes' and I know this after spending over an hour on hold with Delta. Luckily on the way home there are half empty planes until Detroit to Pittsburgh but I don't CARE coming home.

There is a good chance I might not make it to Boston and make my connector. I'm assuming/hoping/praying that since I AM on an international flight I won't be the one bumped. Watch my poor little R2D2 carry on will have to be checked and get destroyed. So think good thoughts tomorrow afternoon everyone. I could use them.

I need to figure out how to manage my insulin. Something has changed in me biologically (probably menopause related) but suddenly I need much less insulin. Now that is a GREAT thing BUT I can't figure out how much less and I keep crashing out. (yes I told ELD where to find my sugar pills in my luggage)

I got the rough draft scheduled to post for summer_of_giles so one less thing to worry on.

So I'll be gone for 10 days. I don't expect to post much. See you later.

Some things I forgot

1. Mom's foot looks amazingly good. Other than a small quarter inch piece of eschar at the lateral edge of the incision you can barely even see a scar. The surgeon did fine work (good on her) and Mom healed up (in no small part due to me making sure she followed orders to the letter). She said yesterday 'I walk better now than before' (yes because the nerveless toe isn't dragging). When she went into surgery she said 'I wanted to lose weight but I didn't think it would be this way.' Two days ago her best friend was here and she said 'what a way to lose weight.' Yeah I see why they're friends.

2. Kanda caught a mouse yesterday and he desperately wants more. My parentals always jokingly accuse me of bringing the mice for him because we rarely see mice here but we're in the country so field mice are a thing. a cute, disease carrying thing. Kanda loves mousing as fat as he is.

3. And seriously every time I fly things go sideways so good thoughts everyone.
