A day at the Phipps
Jan. 4th, 2020 08:49 pmMom, brother, SiL and I went to the Phipps Conservatory. to see the holiday display. I have to say a) raising your price on the weekend isn't cool b) 20$ is a bit pricey to see some flowers. That said it IS an expensive operation. It's now doing a lot of children outreach which I love. It's a very nice place and the holiday displace is top notch.
I'm still laughing at my brother who went to Pitt and didn't know this was here. You can SEE it on the top of the hill from the college library. Geez dude.
We picked a beautiful day to go as you can see

I'm also laughing that my brother and his wife were COLD in a freaking greenhouse (except in the tropical Cuba display and in the desert room.)
Have more photos ( behind here )
We went to a gastropub, the Yard for lunch. I liked it. I ordered a Southern Tier crème brulee stout that was AMAZING too bad it was out and all I got was a sample. I ended up with New Holland's gose made of sour concord grapes
And for the Prodigal Son fans on my list here's 13 sneak peek pictures right here
