I decided on a picture prompt today use if you'd like or not. It's a bad day of doctor's appointments and too much work to do. I'll be back with my tally later.

And don't forget, we have a rec your own fic post up. There's been a few takers. Feel free to jump in
here

ETA - I churned out a 1428 word comment_fic offering in surprise surprise the Prodigal Son fandom and oh 2,285 words of answering my students' attempts at stump the professor in immunology. I hope at least ONE of them reads it.

Here's the tally. If I've forgotten you or you signed up a bit late, let me know. I'll be sure to add you!

cornerofmadness: (Do not want)
My blood sugar is still fucked. They want me to add insulin to every meal (not breakfast, i just don't eat enough but I lied and said I would). So now I'll get even fatter because I so every time I bump it up.

And now for whatever reason my red blood cells are way too high but are NOT binding ferritin/hemoglobin right. Could it be polycythemia vera secondary to diabetes? Maybe but unlikely. Could it be polycythemia vera primary? sure as fuck hope not as that's cancer. Is it probably from that thalassanemia minor gene I carry? Maybe. Am I seeing a hematologist? don't know yet.

Then I show her my finger names which are ridged and coming off and the hair coming out (as the testosterone levels are normal so it's not that) and she says you realize this looks like heavy metal poisoning. Well I've been sayin that for years (my home town area gets hit with industrial bullshit).

There was other news I can't process yet. Not bad or unexpected, just hard to handle.

There is good news too. My cholesterol lowered. So in spite of me getting fatter since I started the dance exercise regime, my cholesterol has improved (it wasn't that bad to start with).

But FOUR weeks after my fall I still have bruises all over my legs, periosteal reactions in the knee and a thrombus in my arm because my immune system has become a surrender monkey

Maybe it was my mood. Maybe it was being so overworked. But I wasn't that fond of this night's Prodigal Son. Sigh.
