And So It Begins

I'll go to bed tonight and wake up and it'll be Christmas eve. The next 5 weeks always fly by. Mygood news for the day is it's likely they can recover my grading files. Yay

I did get a little writing done today but that's about it. It's such a boring day that I wouldn't even be posting except I DO want to post a snippet

In the mean time I am watching holiday baking challenge and I think that it's getting a little dumb in some ways I've been watching a lot of these things since I was injured and got stuck watching them in the hospital. But what is annoying me is they give them moronic ingredients to put in things like licorice and rutabaga and then send the baker/cook home because it tastes like those things (conversely you go home if you don't get to taste the weird things) I'm like how do you mask fucking rutabaga or licorice and who in their right minds will be using that nonsense. The things I sit and think about.

Also got a nasty scratch on my hand. Rocket is a sweet boy except if you need to deal with his tail. Well he was in the house all day went out and came back and he stank like shit. Literally. I think he might have diarrhea and when I tried to look at him to clean him up he got mad and swatted me. He's outside now (his choice not mine) Came back in while I was writing this. I still had to clean him up. He ripped me up fun times when you're on blood thinners

I want to do something very 80s. We had dances in the student union almost weekly. I want something spooky to happen then. Any thoughts? Something you'd like to see happen in a paranormal story? Okay so tonight was a horrible wash. if I hadn't written during a make up exam I'd have done nothing between anxiety and this ongoing issues with the cat.

Snippet - (be kind yes I just noticed i used the word new about 2002 times in one paragraph...)

Robert strolled in next with a small solitary bag of Fritos. He paused seeing Al and Grace. The expression on his face said bringing them dolled up like this was the right call. Dan walked over to them and draped an arm around both ladies, startling Grace who was shockingly into creating her character. Maybe he shouldn’t be so surprised. Grace was very creative.

“This is Grace and this is Alessia. Ladies, this is Robert. They’re new. That’s why we’re starting a new campaign for low level characters if you want to roll up someone new to play.”

“Ah, Danilo, we do not need to rush these things. First times are meant to be savored,” Robert doffed his fedora and swept it low in a bow.

Dan rolled his eyes behind his back. To their credit the girls didn’t laugh and managed to look pleased at the formality of the greeting. Ah they’re going to play him so well.

“Nice to meet you, Robert.” Grace tipped her own hat to him. “I’m about neck deep into making my cleric.”

“An excellent choice.”

“I’m beating my way through making a half-elf druid-thief,” Al said.

Dan wrinkled his nose. “Are you going to overcomplicate things, Al?”

“Always. I live for it.”

“Maybe I can be of help to you fair maidens.” Robert gestured to the table they were working at.

“I’m more maenad than maiden,” Al replied and Dan face palmed, letting his long hair cascade over his hands.

“Now that can be fun.”

Dan didn’t have to see through the waterfall of his hair to know Robert was waggling his eyebrows at them. “Up until she tears you to pieces.”

“But what a way to go,” Robert

“He’s not wrong,” Jesse chimed in.

“Men,” Summer sniffed. “So long as you get laid you don’t even care you die afterwards.”

“I care,” Dan protested.

“Only because you want to do it again.” Al chuckled.

“No shit sherlock.” Dan tried not to think about it.
