More Music

Tonight I went to Jazz at Lincoln Center show at the same theater on Ohio U's campus with the same friends, well friend. Her wife has a meeting so I took her ticket. The only real downside was we were in the balcony and the seating was WAY tighter both at the knees and in the seat (and we were both in pain by the end of two hours, note to self buy on floor tickets only here)

What it was was a cherry picked group of musicians from the Lincoln Center playing together on a two month tour. The two leads (male and female) both sang and played trumpet. We had a guitarist from Canada, a bass player from England, I forget where the drummer was fun and our French-Born pianist is a Juiliard grad. They were playing a lot of stuff from the great American playbook (a lot of Berlin stuff) I'll link up some of the songs here and afterward I went to the Donkey coffee shop. God I missed this place. I haven't been there in ages. I needed road coffee because this is an hour away from home for me.

Four Faces of the Moon by Amanda Strong = Claymation style, nope. Story was good though
The Night Eaters, Vol. 2: Her Little Reapers by Marjorie M. Liu & Sana Takeda = Deserves all the awards
The Restorer's Home Omnibus Volume 1 by Kim Sang-yeop = this is cute
Carmilla: The First Vampire by Amy Chu = enjoyable
Onibi: Diary of a Yokai Ghost Hunter by Atelier Sentô = weird
