Got in some pool time

Which might be the only pool time I get because it's meant to rain the rest of the week. Pouts. Story of my life. A week with a pool, 4 days of rain in the forecast.

I thought the spooky cat got out of the house. He hid for 12 hours. I have NO idea where. Almost got the pills in him but the girl cat raced in and tried to eat the pill pockets so I had to stop her and they both scattered. Sigh.

I went to Leonardo's coffee house in Steubenville, birthplace of Dean Martin. Sadly it's an old steel town that has not recovered at all. They do this big Nutcracker thing every holiday. today is June 4th (It's Dino's birthday in a few days) and two of the storefront's still had the Christmas window art on them. I feel bad. My area is very poor and run down too but at least they're pulling together to try and reclaim the downtown. I wish the same for Steubenville.

I did get a lot written though and then the rest of the day was gone in a blink.



So for the fannish 50 thing I want to park this right here here. It's a YT short of Mark Hamill talking about the Last Jedi and how he fought against the direction it took.

Honestly I've been wondering about this for years and yes, I get that it's a case by case sort of thing but I've wondered about how much input an actor has on plot/story/character. I know a few have a lot of control (Looking at you Harrison Ford, another problem with the new SW) and others less. I wish that there was more listening to the people embodying the characters. Not that they all have great ideas but when Luke Skywalker is telling you he WOULD NOT DO THIS maybe your answer isn't this is the new SW and this is our new direction.

Because it sucked (IMO)
