Today was a bit surreal
Jun. 5th, 2024 11:24 pmI went back to the coffee shop (and will probably have to go back tomorrow because I saw the Dean Martin stuff belatedly and today was NUTS at Leonardo's, literally the line never had less than 6 people in it in the hour I was there) and I had their shaken espresso Basil Mint Julep (was good)
So I'm there working on my gay mafia guy for the mafia horror anthology (check that deadline Dana, check it) and who sits down next to me? A Franciscan Nun. Nothing says let's write gay horror like sitting next to nuns in full habit.
I also wrote my
intoabar story and finished it and maybe posted it. (well its on AO3 but not yet accepted into the comm). I wanted to share it here since it's about the only thing I accomplished today (I forgot to call my doctors again. Somehow the days are flying by with me doing nothing)

Find the story here.
What I Just Finished Reading:
FINALLY finished something
the graveyard shift by d m guay. Really fun story sort of Buffy (and a dumb Dean) work at a quickie mart (though there is body shaming)
living memory - A star trek novel set between movie 1 and 2, not my favorite time period for the original crew but it was good
blood justice by Terry J. Benton-Walker It was good but not nearly as good as the first book, especially because of the rage in the main character
the reformatory by Tananarive Due good but depressing AF because the true horror isn't the ghosts but rather the fact it was set in the Dozier schools in Florida which were a nightmare.
What I am Currently Reading:
The X-Files: Perihelion by Claudia Gray so far so depressing
The Witcher: the Last witch
Falcon's Favor a fantasy mystery that's okay
What I Plan to Read Next: Whatever I brought along for Popsugar challenge and a boatload of manga
