How's it going? I just got out of the Wellness committee meeting, the only meeting I actually enjoy. I'm starting with editing a chapter for my writers critique group. Let us see where we go from here.

I did fight through the depression to get 811 words on the story I'm not supposed to be working on.

No additional writing happened last night, and I don't expect any to happen tonight, either because I am exhausted from . . .

Day 17: I uploaded the six ficlets to AO3. That was a time-consuming and tiring endeavor, but I'm pleased to have it finished! Now I can concentrate on the longer sequel I mentioned.

Sep 17: Finished my editing pass -- rewrote the end AGAIN -- and now I'm feeling a little lost and not sure what to do with myself.

Sept 17th - 843 words. A 500 word challenge ficlet which was fun because I tried my hand at a wild west AU. Also edits on a bunch of fics while waiting for the skip to arrive.

Yes, it's a FAKE (Japanese manga) fandom ficlet called When The West Was Wild. I posted it yesterday. Very few people are interested in FAKE these days, sadly. I'm practically the only person still writing fanfic for it.

Oh cool. I read Fake EONS ago I mean literally nearly 30 years ago so I'm not surprised that the fandom is tiny. What did surprise me was that at Books a million two weeks ago at least 4 80s-era manga were being resurrected and reprinted.

I got into it maybe 11 years ago through a fanfic crossover with Torchwood. Loved the characters, bought the manga, loved the characters even more, and they set up shop in my brain. I've been writing fanfic for about 10 years now, over a thousand short fics, and no sign of stopping.

There have even been some new FAKE manga in the past few years, but sadly most haven't even been translated online, only the first two Back Stage Pass stories have, but they're fun and X-rated. I think there are three more after that.

very cool. Believe it or not somewhere I had (probably still do) on VHS the anime (OVA) which was not worth the price paid but this was in the 90s prior to the Cowboy Bebop driven anime/manga revival s o I was grateful for anything and that we had a gay one at that time period was amazing

I believe! I watched it on youtube and have a DVD co[py, and yes, not great, but still...

What can I say? They are very demanding, Dee especially. I never wrote smut, but Dee makes me, so now I do, but only for FAKE.

I've even written a couple of FAKE spook_me fics.

SO TIRED. But the pizza just got here, and I managed to eke out 70 words on the ending of the short story, words that may or may not stand, and I'm calling it a night to veg. out and catch my breath.

Also I was looking at my list from the beginning of the month of writing I was going to be doing and like half of those things are no longer happening lol. Which is good because I've been barely keeping up as is. I finished the revision of my feature thriller, I'm not sure what's happening with the pitch but I have a call tomorrow to figure that out, the contest deadline I was gonna rewrite my pilot for got pushed to mid October. I ended up dropping the class because I just don't have time. I'll do it in the spring instead.

Still a lot of stuff going on but a lot more manageable!

18th: I salvaged some parts from my refusing-to-cohere writing of the other day and patch them together to form the first two sections of a story. Then wrote the third section and sent it all to beta. :-)
