Something a little different today a couple link outs to finding weasel words and filter words in your writing. My editor with my publisher is always on me about the filter words so I found a few sites to help with that. Honestly I don't worry too much in draft one but I like to dig them out in draft two. That said, in the last year I found myself using them less in draft one so progress.

How's it going? I am off to a bad start and the day is not a happy one

ETA - This day started bad but it got worse. Somehow I channeled the rage into writing. I got 703 words on my original story and 1221 on the story I'm not supposed to be writing.

Thanks for the great resources! I glanced over both lists and noticed that some of them apply to my writing. I'll have to go back through things and cut. :-)

I played a little writing game with myself today to get my brain cleared of cobwebs in preparation for finishing the short story and also prepping the novella for an open call in October. I drew a tarot card from my beloved deck and wrote 615 words of a story based on the images that came to me related to the card.

We're off for a day hike and a picnic. (Tomorrow--ALL THE GRADING. *sighs*)

Those links are great! I do both of those things so I'll have to consciously think about ~not doing them.

Day 18: I did get some words written on the sequel I mentioned! I'm excited about it. I was able to start the fic over from the beginning now that I took the time to create a (very meager) outline of things I want to include. My only problem is that I wanted to do All The Research while writing that little bit (they're going to stay at a lodge in the Adirondacks). I had to force myself to put the phone down. *g* I'm going to type that little bit in this afternoon and hopefully get some more written. *crosses fingers* Or maybe I'll do some research before I pick up pen and paper again.

I do it too. I found consciously thinking about it didn't work that well for me but after about 9 months of using the find option on Word, it started to become subconscious for me and I'm finding myself using the words less.

Exhausted from pulling down sheds and carrying junk to the skip, but I managed a bit of writing this morning, and finished the fic tonight.

Thanks. Right now it's a bearable level of soreness. It's constant so my body has given up protesting at it much for the moment. I spent the afternoon constructing a plastic flat pack garden storage unit, whgich gives me somewhere to put things while the final shged is demolished. Then I just have to finish clearing up all the mess that's being made and get a new shed.

18 Sept - 50ish words on Innumerable Stars, created and posted the promo Tumblr post for the Nerdanel TRSB2021 piece, made the banner and a first crack at the promo post for the Dwalin-Ori TRSB2021 piece. I should be able to get that actually posted tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your crappy day not improving! *hugs* But channelling that into writing is at least something.
I had a good day yesterday (although I found out my sun allergy is still going strong, even in late September /O\ ), got all kinds of outdoor chores done, found time for a little house painting (I'm in the stage where I have to touch up thousand little fine details in all the nooks and crannies which takes SO much time), pitted my second bucket of own damsel plum harvest, made two large sheet cakes with that, and wrote 1,7k on the Drawer WIP.
Go me! I'm really happy about that as it's been so tough throughout the last 18ish months.

Days 16-18 have been about working on projects and being grateful to my previous self for leaving hooks in my drafts to know what to start writing again when I got back to it. Progress has been steady, but I'm not sure those things will reach their end in time, despite, you know, still having plenty of time to get done.
