January's Books and other things
Feb. 1st, 2022 09:29 pmI think this week is going to go downhill on a sled Today my sugar had NOT come down so now I'm not sure it was the rice noodles. Not sure what is going on though. I'm struggling with depression and burn out and it's causing me to blow past deadlines. SIGH.
I have been thinking about my Slaying 80s Style nano novel. I could have left the monsters as monsters are just there ala Buffy or Supernatural but decided that someone has to be summoning certain types of demons. I'm like okay great that does give me a definite villain...who the hell are they and what do they want? Way to make everything harder. But then I thought about the social horror stuff I was talking about and that could play into this. And power can be a motive right? I mean it's often a motive so why not here? I started putting this into my writers group
Also the writing critique group I'm in (pretty low pressure) is way down in numbers. We exchange chapters/short stories every 6 weeks. If someone would be interested let me know.
So my reading. I read SO MUCH in January. I haven't had a reading jag like this in a few years I don't think. I love talking books so if you see something you'd like let me know and we can talk it
