Saw that the court destroyed the separation of church and state in schools. I didn't sleep last night after seeing some of the horrible plans to reinstall Trump and other far right wingers wanting to roll back voting rights for women and I do not know how to let any of this go, or what to do because it's feeling hopeless. I could bankrupt myself donating and couldn't begin to match the billionaires buying the right wing.

I really don't know what's happening in the USA. This move to the extreme right - which is not just happening in the USA - is terrifying.

People always say they have no idea how totalitarian rule starts and I'm like you're watching it now. Today's agenda, removing the separation of church and state. Surely same sex marriage is after that and there's even been talking about Brown vs the board of education and title IX (removing protections for PoC and women as far as hiring/education)

It's hard because it's such an onslaught- first, the treatment of women as second class citizens with no body autonomy, second, the separation of church and state issue (freedom of religion), third, the horrible tales coming out of the January 6th hearings that show us how close we came to Trump forcing himself in for a never-ending Presidency, fourth (depending on where you live) the constant barrage of ads from this or that political candidate- I live close enough to Illinois to get their nonsense and there'd be an ad saying so-and-so was the perfect conservative and then the next one calling them a fake who sided with AOC and the liberals- and finally, we have no idea where this nonsense will take us next.

Self-care is so important during these times. We need to take care of ourselves and then grab just one issue out of the many and commit to it. Let your Congress people know how you feel, the left is going to have to be held as responsible for their inaction as the right is for their bullying tactics.

Wishing us peace and strength for the road ahead. We're going to need it.

thank you. MY congress people think you can magically put an ectopic pregnancy into the womb again and decided teachers should have guns but no more than 24 hours of training. They are not a help.

But yes, self care is needed right now. Hell it looks like Texas wants to reinstall Trump by force.

And now I have less body autonomy than a corpse. It's nuts.
