For oh so many reasons

reason 1 my knee subluxed as I was sitting down and collapsed. Luckily I hit the chair and not the floor.

reason 2 Our governor's ruling with ZERO exceptions means a raped 10 year old girl had to be taken out of state for an abortion. That's right Gov. DeWine is okay with forcing 10 year olds to give birth. Let that sink in. I think this helps me to decide to buy my house out of state but sadly my other two choices within in easy driving distance of work is with Mitch the Bitch in KY and Manchin in WV. Whee

reason 3 - Literally spent all damn getting hotels and I'm NOT DONE. I had to do some pivoting for personal reasons. I'm debating passing on Boston entirely. Tomorrow I need to contact one place in Salem, the one 300$ hotel I'm looking at just because it has a parking lot (the rest don't and they're not much cheaper)

I have lost all interest in this trip. It's been a total nightmare to arrange. I've actually looked at the other trips I considered but they're all booked so this nightmare is what I'm left with.

I did manage to go through the applicants for the physics position we have. Go me.

All this and I had no time to work on my Trailer Park story. sigh.

I'm worried about my niece who is going back to Case Western in the fall. I feel like I should be having some variation of "the talk" with her. At this point, prevention for every woman in Ohio feels key. Six weeks is barely enough time to know that you're late, let alone pregnant.

I'd say that Illinois might be safe, but it really depends how the election shakes out in November. I'm stuck in Missouri for the time being, I'm going to get a passport soon, because it might become necessary at the rate things are going.

I haven't really had the desire to write lately. That needs to change.

I am planning to change my lectures on reproduction to get the info out more but it's pretty late at that point. Still it's all I can do. No woman is safe in OH.

Given how shitastic Biden is doing I see it all swinging red which is terrifying and now I see the UK and Canada making a lot of the same anti-women noises too

I did have a brief conversation with my niece last night about it and she's covered (she also mentioned that it's a 2 hour drive to Pennsylvania, so apparently she's thought about her worst-case scenario options as well). Thank goodness.

She also reminded me that MO is "from conception" even though they have a "life of the mother" loophole that can be difficult to get around- doctors and lawyers have to consult before any procedure can be enacted.

PA is likely to swing red so... and yeah where you're at isn't good either. MO is usually pretty conservative. OH TRIED to make it so ectopic pregnancies can't be aborted and placed back in the womb. Dumbasses didn't know that's impossible. We wish we could. A lot of those women don't want to lose their babies

I'm so sorry that you're still having issues with your vacation and losing interest. I never thought how easy it is when you're just going to one place and only have to worry about booking one hotel. Have you ever been to Gettysburg? (You've probably said and I'm having a brain fart.) As far as civil war vacations go, that place is really nice. A great place to do some walking. Maybe you could just stay in lovely Mystic longer?
