My cousin's hotel didn't care if she had guests in the pool (probably because other than 6 other people I swear this place was empty) so mom and I went over there and swam...and swam..and swam. In the rain.

When it rained hard we went to the gazebo but really if it's not lightning why do we worry about swimming in the rain? It's not like we're not already wet.

I have an eczema that affects my feet/hands and it was really bad this month, feeling like a mask over my skin. The chlorine water stripped it all off (in disgusting sheets) so at least that's good.

My cousin came here for pizza. And just like that the whole evening was gone and Writerly Ways will go back another day.

I also tried to get into my work email but the new website is a dick and my password expired but it wouldn't let me in to change it. Had to call work, took four tries to get someone who could help. Now I have hundreds of emails to get through. Like my secretary quitting. Them adding extra students to my class with nowhere to put them in my labs (i saw a meme, we don't have a teacher shortage we have teachers who quit because of the lack of respect and the shit pay.), a call for the syllabus I forgot to do, and so much crap that I gave up and will finish tomorrow.

I'm glad you were able to swim with your mom and your cousin. Sounds like you had a good time.

Emails can really out of hand in no time at all. Hopefully, you will tame them soon enough!

Oh damn. Good luck catching up on work stuff. Always a trial after you haven't been looped in for a while.

I'm currently rediscovering proper swimming for me - haven't done so for far too many years for one reason or another, but before that I was swimming daily in summer and at least twice weekly in winter. I always loved being in the outdoor pool during rain, it's a special kind of atmosphere and feeling, I think, and comes with the big advantage of the pool being nearly empty.*g* And like you said, you're already wet, so...
Sorry ot hear about the eczema. My neurodermitis isn't liking me taking to swimming again, but I hope the skin gets used to it eventually. At least they're no longer using chlorine in that pool, which is a big plus.
(I still haven't gotten around to read your travel entries but look forward to, they're always so interesting!)
