I have some answers
Aug. 25th, 2022 10:17 pmSo it was be at the doctor's all day today. I get to the clinic only to be told I might be late for my appt because of the lab's slowness. Dude's I'm here 40 minutes early and no one else is in the waiting room. WTF is the lab doing?
Luckily I get the blood drawn and up to the ENT. I'll be honest I walked in there thinking I knew what was wrong with both the nose and the ear. Okay I already did know that the left eardrum was retracted over the ossicles (the little bones that transmit sound to the inner ear) b ut what I didn't know was is there something that can be done.
Short answer is no with a but. If it really hurts they can do steroids and/or temporary tubes. That is a little disappointing but about what I expected.
I think some of you might remember, I had some nose bleeds earlier this year, bad ones that left me coughing up clots from my lungs. I had some odd ridges inside one nostril that hurt. They get smaller and larger over the months. And I thought 'are these varicose veins? I have them everywhere else.' But since you can't see inside your own nose I went in to have it looked at.
And yes they're varicose veins. If they bleed again they want me to come in to get them cauterized. Well doesn't that sound fun? Also they gave me a hearing test. It's not as bad as I thought.
I got some writing time in at the coffee house and managed the gym.
It was endocrinology in the afternoon. For the last 3 weeks my sugar has been over 200. She suggested stress (which I thought of) but it could be a sign of covid (even if I'm not positive). Either way she's not worried. 'you know what you have to do, doc.' yeah yeah adjust my insulin. On it. The funny thing is when I called earlier in the week to be sure the labs were scheduled, they scheduled the ones she DID NOT write for (it was the o nes from the time before) duh. God this lab sucks it. It's always a fuck up with them. But it was a very comprehensive one and other than my usual anemia I'm fine. Kidneys are perfect. Glad to know that.
She's also the one who sent me for the nerve conduction test because neuropathy isn't unilateral like mine is. She asked what happened after seeing the neurologist. Nothing, she sent me nowhere. The endo was shocked. So she wants me to call my GP and have her rec something.
Also she said my pain could be raising my sugar especially after I said how hurty the knee is. I mentioned there needs to be follow up with my knee with someone other than the trauma surgeon. She looked at me and said you KNOW your knee is bending in places knees don't bend. Yes but everyone else keeps telling me it's my imagination. So yeah I need to make that appointment too. We did talk about taking CBD gummies for this but both are of the opinion they're useless. I've tried them. I'm like great well now I ate a jelly bean for no reason and a gross tasting one at that. I feel zero effect from these things.

(The first gummies I tried tasted ~awful. I had to drink water afterwards to rinse the taste out of my mouth.)
