But before that, my condolences to my UK friends. I admittedly only know a little about Queen Elizabeth and what I did know made me like her. I kept three pounds, each with a picture of her at different stages of her life which made me smile.

So I went to the doctor today as a follow up about my back. Naturally the standard question about falls comes up and I'm like not since the last big fall. nothing much came of this because the hospital didn't send the fucking MRI/Neurology report so how can she refer me out without that. Sigh.

I went to the gym and then to the coffee house. My left foot is neuropathic and weak because I broke it badly as a teen. It hit the uneven sidewalk in a way that rolls my ankle. Next thing I know I'm on the ground (like 90 minutes after being asked that question). I was carrying my computer which is now half way down the sidewalk. Luckily two ladies saw me fall and helped me up.

Shockingly even though I landed on the right bad knee, nothing felt that hurt. I got right up and they gathered up my stuff for me. I go in get my coffee. My students are there in their red scrubs. They don't know I fell as I'm not bleeding. I have however skinned my right arm from elbow to wrist and my right leg from thigh to ankle. My right ring finger hurts because it was mildly dislocated. I put it back to rights.

One of the students comes over and asks me, you're not making MORE work for us. You can't. I grin and say maybe. He turns to barista and laughingly asks him to cut the wifi. cheeky bastard. By the time I leave the coffee shop the ring finger is bruised as is the bad knee. My left ankle aches a little but nothing bad.

I come home and put the laundry in. Now my hand and ankle start really hurting and swelling. By the time laundry is done I make the decision I need to go get these x-rayed so up I go to urgent care.

There is so much swelling in the ankle you can see it on X-ray. Naturally urgent care doesn't have a radiologist after 5. eye roll. So I look them over with the CNP who is giving care. I agree. I don't see any broken bones in the foot/ankle but a shit ton of arthritic spurring. The finger might be cracked but there's so much arthritis in there who can tell. Doesn't matter, the treatment is the same so ankle brace, finger splint and I'm off to the library for an author talk I wanted to go to. They'll call me if something is actually broken

L met me there. The talk went okay. The only people asking questions was me (because she seemed desperate because no one was asking anything) and a tween girl. I did buy a book. I had read one of her books which wasn't bad. Also the librarian knows me from Athens Nano writing group and handed me the next volume of Lore Olympus since I just brought back the first.

L and I went to Arch and Eddie's for dinner. Forgot to stop at cvs for pain pills. go me. And so much for going to the Earthworks this weekend. I won't be able to walk it. Bah. At least Mothman fest is not til the weekend after next. I'd hate to miss that

I know right? That's why the docs ask about falls there are SO many important things that falling a lot could mean and many are fixable. Mine isn't (nerve damage)

I'm so sorry. Hopefully, they confirm nothing is broken and you heal up fast with a minimal amount of pain.
