I have been out hiking for three days! I managed 300 words on the 16th before I left, then for obvious reasons nothing on the 17th, and then 400 words now on the 18th after coming back. Total wordcount 76,700.

On Day 18, we went for a long and lovely hike—perfect hiking weather, few bugs, and fewer people. But I added 300 words to the new thing before we went.

Sep 18: More editing, as I continue to work my way through beta comments. Chapters 4-7 today, plus some backtracking to fill/expand/adjust some things in earlier chapters.

17: kicked my premise for fan_flashworks and am trying not to come to the conclusion that I got stuck because the premise is fundamentally flawed

18: gave up on writing one of the scenes for het_bigbang, created a playlist that will hopefully convey the important plot point at least as effectively (read: swiped and modified code from layouttesst via La_Temperanza, then filled in the titles and artists and timestamps of these fictional covers of real songs, and the scene I can now avoid writing was using somebody playing those songs on piano to communicate things he is magically banned from speaking or writing about so hopefully)
