It was a stupid busy crazy day so not much got done. I got about 300 words on my spook_me story. I’m really excited about it but I’m struggling to find time to work.

I’ve been mostly passing on writing advice from some of my favorite authors so have this bit from N.K. Jemisin on worldbuilding.

Sept 21st - 758 words on the spook_me story, and I still have no idea how the heroes can kill the supernatural beastie *ponders* As always, online research failed me because I suck at it.

Goblins/fairies tend to hate iron if you want to go that route and if it's solid you can probably use an edged weapon if any of this helps

Thank you! The article is fascinating, but not really helpful for destroying a malevolent beastie that's killing people, so it looks like I'll need dome kind of iron weapon. I'm writing FAKE, and Dee was raised in a Catholic orphanage, so do you think holy water might be of any use? Also thinking of using salt for protection somehow. Not sure how I'd make that work though... Unless throwing salt on the beastie would render it powerless or something. Have to think on that.

No it's more about attracting the but you could crib the protection stuff.

The former Catholic in me says sure Holy Water is magic. Salt is always good. Mix a little iron filings in it and dissolve in holy water put in super soaker water pistol...

I used to have something like that. Maybe Dee has too... Of course I might not go that way with the story, I never really know what I'll write until I write it, but I'm going to do some thinking while I get some other writing done.
