Today I edited a chapter in my monster-hunting novel set in the 1980s (still need a beta reader for this one or at least a cheerleader to keep me going on it). Also got another 400 words on my spook_me.

23 Sept - a drabble and did some more on the Follow poem. Got my dates mixed up - sorry!

We actually got away on our little holiday trip! The internet connection isn't the best (technically good but too thick walls for good reception where I'm sitting) so I won't probably be online much.
Wrote on days 22-25, a few sentences for the drawer fic for day 22 + 23, 1,5k of longfic for day 24 and a few lines already today.
Very true about that quiet place inside! For me it's mostly a question of quieting down the outside "noises" of things to do and my presence being required etc.. Music helps me a lot to get there; mostly either baroque concerti by Vivaldi, Bach or Teleman, or Renaissance consort music, but certain kinds of Scandinavian or Celtic folk music also work well.

I will be back for Day 25 check-in, but on Day 24, which was packed, I realized only after I had climbed into bed that I didn’t write, so I composed a sentence in my head and memorized it. That sentence is: “Once upon a time there was a boy named Zim who wanted more than anything in the world to be loved.”

On Day 25, I added 511 words to the Zim story. Can you tell I've finally set up my new laptop? YAY!

25: I wrote a sentence, that's enough to check in with

my test CSS (using w3schools Tryit as a sandbox because I am always afraid I'll accidentally post an AO3 draft) is not going great, I can't figure out how to convince the thing to either display the entire height of the background image instead of cutting it off right after the text (that's supposed to be on a single sheet of this stationery) or scale the width of the background image to match the text plus margins (instead of tiling it when it decides it's too narrow or cutting a side off when it decides it's too wide), but I did successfully convert Monarch Butterfly PNG File into purple butterflies! that I also rearranged because otherwise I was going to have weird gaps. haven't worked out the background color for the stationery, but there's going to be a partially transparent white box (w/ border) over the butterflies and that's the part the text goes on.
