what's wrong with my foot is exactly what I thought was wrong, peroneal (fibularis) tenosynovitis with post-static dyskinesia. Basically, tendons are in a sheath that helps them glide about. With tenosynovitis, the sheath is inflamed and the sheath and tendon all but become glued together. the swelling in my foot is still pretty pronounced even with me putting Voltran (a NSAID) ointment on it.
The problem is this thins the tendon and it can snap. It isn't yet, at least we don't think so (I can still move the foot without that much pain) I need to calm this down. Steroids are off the table and with my blood thinners so are NSAIDs. Well that just leaves immobilization and rest.
BUT this is at a satellite clinic and it's poorly equipped. they don't have the brace I need. Doc (who knows and respects that I have the exact same training as him) says we'll get it down here tomorrow. His assistant says uh yeah no one is coming down here tomorrow. Can you come up to get it? NO! That's 60 miles from where I work, there's no way unless I take part of the day off. How about you stock your damn clinic? Well I didn't say that but I am thinking it. Doc says...maybe friday? Sigh. I'm just going to ace bandage the bastard tomorrow and lock the foot in neutral the best I can.
To be honest I've been expecting this since I started walking again. My left foot bears most of the weight after my injury. I still can't use my right leg to stand up as well as I'd like and that is likely to be permanent due to the nerve damage weakening those muscles. My Ehlers-Danlos plays a deep role in this too. Also I have to walk down steps (no hand rail) to the front of the classroom. It was inevitable that I'd stress out this foot. I'm surprised it took 2 years.
Okay let's have some musical monday stuff. Can I just say it again I am surprised at all the fan songs I'm running into lately. I don't remember this being a thing 20 years ago when I was deep into Buffyverse and Fullmetal Alchemist. Granted we've had 20 years in advancement in musical software etc. Also let's take a moment to think about the level of difficulty there is in creating fan songs. I'm not talking AMVs here (though those are time consuming too) Fanfic is something I can toss off in a matter of an hour or two depending on the length (long ones obviously take me much longer) but the thought of writing lyrics, arranging the score, finding the musicians or doing it electronically, this all just amazes me so take a moment to listen to two fan artists for The Owl House and Vox Machina
The Owl House ones are all by the same artist (and I shared a different fan song artist on Friday )
