Halloween Eve
Oct. 30th, 2023 10:20 pmI wore my outfit today because I only have one class tomorrow (I think I'll trot Edalyn Clawthorne out again tomorrow). I went as a Tiefling (no tail)
Students wanted selfies with me. But naturally also today was the day the Provost wanted to speak to me because of course. (Not worried our president was dressed as Pennywise)
The talk was about yet another case of misadvised students by our 'coaches' and what can we do to help the student. I mentioned we're tired of being the bad guys because the student sees us as not helping but ffs the advisors have a LIST of all required classes. What is their issue.
I'm also disappointed that I'm not just going to be given my sabbatical back and I have to reapply (and nearly missed the deadline) But also no one has a copy. I have nothing on my work computer. I DID luckily find an old, not even spellchecked draft on the old computer here but jeez.
How about a little twist on music monday? Every week a new letter represented. You've seen this challenge before. So the group/solo act has to start with the letter of the week and if you want you can borrow this for you blog or drop your music into the comments here. Let's have some fun with this. Share some music with me
Letter G. Let's hit a bunch of stuff in no particular order
I miss the Dead (yes I know they're still around but...)
Once upon a time there was a great Connor and Angel AMV to this but i can no longer find it
This was another one if it came on in the student union people lost their minds
My friend flippy had mentioned Gorillaz to me as a strange themed, story telling experiment and this was one of my favorites from it
This is the theme of so many of my protags
I admit it. I rather love Garth Brooks's music. But the one I appreciate the most is this absolutely WOKE song that had some of the conservative country dickheads breaking and burning his CDs and he's like I AM NOT APOLOGIZING. It's a song of acceptance for skin color, religion, sexual orientation and yeah some people lost their minds in a very ugly way
And I don't get to hear them often but Ghostfire, a steampunk band

Date: 2023-10-31 10:04 am (UTC)Boo about the other stuff, though; how annoying.
I wanted to ask about the music monday challenge, as I've actually never seen it around before: do you just go once through the alphabet or is there a place where the letter of the week is posted or so?
Most of your choices so far were unfamiliar to me; but for one, Gorillaz I know well! *g* Siljan loves them so I often listen to them in his car.

Date: 2023-10-31 02:22 pm (UTC)yeah I got the music monday somewhere. Mostly I haven't seen a central hive for the posts, just friends doing it in their blogs and I put my twist on it doing the other alphabet music challenge for it so feel free to take it and do with it as you wish.
It amuses that Gorillaz is know but the Grateful Dead isn't (they were prominent in hippie counter culture here
