January was 100 years long
Feb. 1st, 2024 11:29 pmAnd at the same time is gone in the blink of an eye (except this week, this week is seriously a month long)
I do think that I did use my time writing pretty well. I have the rough draft of the Dracula thing done (needs a beta but it's done). I'm 3K into the SF horror (same thing with the beta) and this one needs to be in the 5-8K range so I need to get the horror part moving.
I've looked over that steampunk mystery and feel like I can go back to that and save it (finishing it and Slaying 80s style will be the nano emphasis this year) though I think it will be more dieselpunk. I did look at Riding in Cars with Strangers after ELD brought it up. It's like 29K which is novella range but where do I go from here? Novellas are becoming easier sells but not great but I KNOW how hard it is to expand a novella to a novel.
What I need to do going forward is figuring out a way to get this apartment in order. It's too messy even for me but when I get home I sit down and don't get up again for like 2 hours and I need to figure out how to stop that. I just want to take like 15 min. and work on one area at a time. I DID clean out two bins in the back room and threw out ancient make up, like a full office garbage can full. And I still have a ton. I forgot how much lipstick Clinque used to put in their 'gifts' I literally had like 40 tubes, most of it never opened I still have half of it. Why? Who knows
I don't have more space. I have things I do not want to throw out so I need to figure out better organizational skills.

Date: 2024-02-02 06:07 pm (UTC)Is there a But Nothing group in your area? That's a good way to get rid of things like lipstick samples.

Date: 2024-02-02 08:35 pm (UTC)I am having the same problem I feel like I can't get a handle on the messiness that is my home right now. It sounds like you made a good start. I am going to make a list and then check off as I go. I find that works well for me as it gives me a sense of accomplishment.

Date: 2024-02-02 09:25 pm (UTC)After you throw out or donate the stuff you don't want, could you spring for a storage unit? You could maybe store some of the things that are seasonal or that you don't want to part with right now?

Date: 2024-02-04 05:34 am (UTC)I have two storage units actually one back home with the parents and one here but there isn't a climate controlled one in 50 miles of me. Mine has rats and snakes. It's fine for my gardening stuff and holiday things in plastic bins but not much else.
