The urge to go on a rampage
Oct. 16th, 2024 11:21 pmAnd Medical Mutual becomes even more laughable. THEY don't do the claim approvals. No it's a third party that does NOT have access to the records the doctors sent or any of the billing to prove that I've done what is necessary. So now my doctor has to waste their time sending this info to a third party and start the appeal process but which time, if I'm lucky I'll no longer have this shitty insurance. And now I'm playing phone tag with my doc's nurse trying to be sure they say a) had nerve test b) had angiogram c) can't take NSAIDs because of blood thinners d) can't take oral steroids because of diabetes e) did six fucking weeks of PT.
Saw the dentist. he agreed the one problem was a resolving gum infection (not uncommon in diabetic) and the pain on the other side was a cavity. He fixed it but whatever long-acting anesthetic he used took SIX hours to wear off. Dinner was fun because he managed to paralyze my face muscles too. Thanks for the palsy that everything wanted to slide out of.
Mom's toe was not a bone infection but the podiatrist finally did something I suggested like 2 years ago, clipped the tendon to lay it out flat. Yes you can get a floppy toe or one that's too stiff but we already have one with abnormal pressures and infection so what is there to lose?
What I Just Finished Reading:
Twisted Shadows by Allie Therin another arc, the sequel to Liar City which I loved, boy this went hard at the end but I'm not sure I like where it's going
Murder at the Old Abbey by Pippa McCathie, a police procedural set in Wales and it was a lot of fun
What I am Currently Reading:
Lies on the Serpent's tongue - sequel to Bittersweet in the Hollow (so very Appalachian and oddly the protagnist in this can tell lies just like in Twisted Shadows only she tastes them) it's an arc
Who Cries from the Lost - C.S. Harris. I adore this historical mystery series. I meant to read this last year then misplaced it (found it while cleaning)
What I Plan to Read Next: something off my ginormous physical tbr pile
