my mistake or bad medicine

Hmm it occured to me when I woke at 4 AM and couldn't return to sleep that the day after I bought this batch of Byetta that I accidentally forgot to put in the fridge for hours. Distraught I calld CVS and they called the manufacturer and they both said it should be fine in spite of that. I believed them because they would NOT hesitate to make me buy another 200$ vial of medicine.

But my sugar went out of whack right then and there. So maybe. I called the endocrinologist today so we'll see. BUT interestingly enough one of the other profs here has the same doc and he too was put on Byetta and then insulin and byetta since it stopped working. When I called Doc's receptionist and gave her my message, she said the same damn thing. She was on Byetta but had to go to insulin too.

there willbe no TOO in my case. i will NOT inject myself four times a day. Pick one...

i guess it does work for some people. You have no idea. I take over FOUR HUNDRED dollars in diabetic meds every month. (and top it with 200 in stomach meds and let's not get into the breathing ones)

hee actually that's fine. I don't pay a dime now but that's what THEY'RE paying (I vaulted over my 1000$ deductible in under 3 months)

Oh, well, that's good then. But it never ceases to amaze me how much pharmaceutical companies charge for their drugs. I'm all for a reasonable profit and enough money to keep R & D going, but geez, do they have to get back all their R & D expenditures on a drug in the first year? :)
