Oh What Fresh Hell is This?

Classes have started. SHOOT ME. Better yet, i have a few other targets. I KNEW I was in trouble on friday when they said people only THOUGHT they were registered with Student Space (our new software) and that we'd have more people appearing than is on our roster.

I THINK because this class has a dual identity (i.e it counts lower for bio majors and higher for PE majors) that the register THINKS it's two separate courses. It has a cap of 24 people. One section had 22 and the other had 7. NO. People, just NO. that's 29 people. I can't FIT that many into lab. I had people sitting on the floor. I'm going to have to move my class to another building!!! Worse I have to give up one morning to put in a NEW lab since it violates OSHA codes to overload a lab. WHY do you think I have a limit on there, registrar? WHY do you allow overloads. This isn't an English class where I can just shove in more seats. And now I have to get approval since adding a lab is huge amounts of work and I wanted paid for that.

Then I drank from the wrong side of my coffee cup and spilled it ALL over my shirt (even with a sippy cup I can't manage) and then my yogurt exploded all over my shirt. Life, you suck. No love. Me.

ETA - OMG the same thing happened in my OTHER class. At least 6 people didn't show up. maybe they dropped already and I won't be overloaded

well yes. The problem is, administration is rarely made up of scientists and they always seem to think merely adding chairs will solve the problem

I'm so sorry.

My life sucks right now, too, but at least work is a good place for. I'm able to use work as a refuge. I'm sorry you can't do that.

You have my sympathy. I got slammed last semester with overloads.

I'm not sure how many students I have today because I can't sign on to the faculty web! According to the IT person, "It's getting slammed. Just keep trying." I hate technology.

Hey my IT people said the same thing. Um how am I expected to show my students how it works if I can't get onto it. Gah.

I had overloads last semester too. I can handle it in Bio 101 but not my upper level anatomy class. I don't have enough tools, dead things or seats
