Bad electronics...BAD
1. couldn't turn off the alarm clock (that was more bad brain)
2. the computer guy fixed the settings on my computer because all the computers were set to NOT accept our new student software and I tell him the other problems it was having. He found errors and fixed them...and it didn't work. But he was most distressed that my FMA wallpaper at work did NOT have Armstrong
3. the projector in the classroom wasn't working. Well I TOLD them last week the control board was messed up and I was told it was fine (it's not it's now dead). No one told the profs that you have to turn the projector on (until it's fixed) by hand. This is on the ceiling. So now we're smacking something that's tens of thousands of dollars with a STICK trying to hit a button the size of the on/off button on a dvd player
4. I go to walmart and get to the cash register and hear them whinging about the computers being a pain and gee there's no cash in the drawer. She starts checking me out and I saw, um are the credit card things DEAD? yes. Don't you think that's pertinent info to tell me BEFORE you start ringing me out. Not everyone has cash/checks (I usually don't but I did because I just paid rent). Not one announcement about it. I know they don't want to run off customers but won't they be MORE pissed if they stand in a huge assed line and not be able to pay
5. someone pulling a float for an elementary school (why at 5 pm on a Wednesday who knows) runs the stop sign, nearly hits me then proceeds to head for the highway at 10 mph. DIE.

it was 104 today. that's just wrong.

and as promised, picspam. Here is Dublin Cemetary (that's Dublin OH). There were two crypts that really lured me in. They face the road and give off creepy vibes
crypt one

which is attached to crypt two and they share a huge mound of earth behind them (with icky plastic vents...)

the lintel

i'm shocked at the perfect condition of this stone and it's Victorian grave art. Usually this sort of stone falls prey to acid rain. I'm wondering if it's a replacement weeping willow

and just in case you didn't believe me gravestones that the road crosses over. No kidding. The writing faces the road so you know where those graves are...under the gravel. Weird

eta - writing stuff...blah tonight. didn't do much but broke the quarter mark in 5 days

Yeah, I want cars driving over _my_ feet for all eternity. Don't you? But remember what our tour guide said about the graves in that downtown cemetery in Savannah and the road going by it....

Nifty crypts. Very Sunnydale.

yeah, 104 is very wrong. I think it was in the 70s here today, actually felt a bit chilly at times.

Ooooo, nice mausoleums. I even called Bear in so he could see. And we looked really hard and don't think there are any footstones in the last pic, so yeah, people are driving over those 'loved ones'. There just had to be another way to do that...

I'm sorry it's so hot. In the last pic Bear and I were commenting on how pretty it looked that day, blue sky et al. We've had nothing but grey skies and rain, but it has kept our temps down.

I prefer gray days for graveyard photos since i'm not talented to keep down sun glare

Did you know that Greenlawn has a Wikipedia entry (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenlawn_Cemetery,_Columbus,_Ohio)?

104 is too damn hot. I like the stomework on that crypt. And it sounds like you had one annoying day.

it got a little worse but I didn't wnat to post about it. Aging parents...and the male ego that refuses to see a doctor.

Wow. Some of those are definitely on the creepy side. And yet I kept expecting to see Spike leaning oh so casually up against one of those crypts. During the night time of course. *g*

But very cool pictures. The Marketing Department is supposed to go on this "ghost tour" of a cemetery somewhere here in Central Florida. *shudders* Team building my ass.

hey ghost tours are very hot. Your marketing department is being trendy. Wonder which ones. Chances are, I was there

Oh it'll probably be really fun...but I KNOW I'm going to be creeped out the whole time and jumping at the slightest thing. I DO NOT do well with things along this nature. Yet I love watching 'Ghost Hunters' on tv. *shrugs*

You hit a float?!?!?! What WERE they doing at that hour? And who would put road over graves? Your town is just messed up. But I died laughing at the Armstrong comment. XD

but I did hit the float in my town. Well I didn't hit it but i got stuck behind the stupid thing

The nicely detailed stone looks suspicously like a concrete casting if you ask me.

that's what I'm thinking. It's TOO good. Those limestone ones 'melt' I think the family must still be in the area and replaced the old one complete with original markings

Ok. Crypt 1 is very creepy looking.

As to the Victorian stone, did you see that it has repair lines in it? They go horizontally through the stone. Maybe it was knocked over and kept in storage for a while.

I will send you an email shortly of the Egyptian Mausoleum here in York! :-) It's creepy!

yes, it really is creepy.

No, didn't notice the repair lines. You can ask JK about our time in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. Totally cool

If the scanners or whatever are dead, it doesn't bother me when I'm in the store. Even if they fit on me not having cash because I tell them they should've known since the debit card was in my hand the entire time. The only thing that really pissed me off in a wal-mart was the fact that my mom and I had a woman in front of us who had $200 dollars worth of items and only $100 dollars in food stamps. She sat there and nit-picked through everything so I suggested sh get rid of the coca-cola fridge packs. "Are you crazy, they're on sale 2 for $4!" My smartass mouth: "That's not much of a sale when Albertsons has the exact same brand 10 for $10." I thouroughly hate that, you should know how much money you can spend when you enter the store!

tell me about it. I was going to have to pick thru (since I planned to pay on credit) because I hardly had any cash then I found a check book. I would have gotten out of line to have done that though

Oooo, I LOVE old cemeteries!

I need to scan in all the pics I took of a cemetery up in Santa Fe - VERY cool place, tombstones displaced by giant trees that had obviously been planted as saplings long ago...

you and me both. Of course when I was down your way i had to go to Boot Hill.

I'd love to see the Santa Fe one. I would like to go back to Greenlawn in Columbus. So nice that there are tour guide maps to it

Boot Hill was better many years ago, before the town restoration - I understand why they replaced all the old wooden "tombstones" with the metal markers (except for the colorful ones, which were of course restored, like "Les Moore"), but it's not as "Old West Charming" as it was when I was a little girl.

oh that's sad. It was still wood when I was there in 92
