1)Who do you ship? You can include anyone whether you're active in the fandom or just a casual fan.

2) If you could have one subtexty/unconventional 'ship become canon which one would it be and why?

3)Of all the canon pairings you ship, which one would you most like to see (have liked to seen) get a happy-ish ending as a couple? And the all important question, why this one above all of the others?


1. BtVS - Buffy/Angel, Giles/Jenny, Willow/Tara, Spike/Dru, Angelus/Darla, Connor/Dawn

AtS - Lilah/Wes, Connor/Faith,

Fullmetal Alchemist - Roy/Riza, Ed/Winry, Maes/Gracia, Maes/Gracia/Roy/Riza, Maes/Roy

Saiyuki - i prefer gen to be honest but I write Gojyo/Hakkai, Sanzo/Goku (and all four together)

2. Maes/Gracia/Roy/Riza because I think they would work very well as a polyamorous group

3. I know most everyone is probably expecting Connor but since his only canon ship was kinda icky...Roy and Riza. She gave up her whole life to keep him safe in the military. Roy has given up hunks of his life to fight his way to the top in a vain attempt to stop the pointless wars and make amends. They deserve happiness

2. The HazelxAnyone. Honestly, I don't understand why people don't write it, Hazel was able to get under the ikkou's skin with just one sentence.

interesting. Honestly I think Hazel isn't very well liked which is probably why he doesn't get much love (and to be honest, I've been in a LOT of fandoms but I've never been in one that is so rigid in its ships as Saiyuki!) I've never much thought of Hazel in sexual terms

True, the ships in Saiyuki are quite rigid and the Hazel hate is pretty much there. I just find it an interesting relationship with Hazel. Even though the ikkou hate his guts, they treat him remarkably well. Hazel's like a damn rubic's cube with them, even if they don't realize it, Sanzo, Goku, Hakkai and Gojyo like him in a twisted snarky way. I'm a twisted little fangirl.....

i probably wouldn't have taken the 10 cliche challenge that i did had i know just HOW rigid they were.

I find Hazel to be a very interesting foil for them. I don't like him much but I do find him interesting. I don't have a good handle on his character though

That's why I haven't done any fic challenges yet because I love to experiment.

Hazel's character is like the ikkou smushed up into one being. Hakkai's politeness, Gojyo's confidence, Goku's excitement and Sanzo's holier than thou attitude. At least, that's how I view it.

that's an interesting way to see it. I can't say as you're wrong in that observation.

Having not seen more than bound vol 7, (not even sure how much if any of the reload stuff is on line) and not having seen the anime yet where he appears (i have it but haven't sat down with it) but from fanvids I'm thinking that Hazel manga vs anime are two different critters (he seems more hostile in the anime)

you know, i was thinking of doing this meme but then i realized: i don't really ship. i mean, there's some couples i like better than others in fandom, but the romance aspect is usually not really what i focus on.
