how was everyone's first day?

Last night I went to my brothers with mom (dad got sick) and played penny ante poker and 31 with my brother and his inlaws and his SiL and her new fiancee (I liked him. He was funny).

Harrassed by cats and warmed by bannanna daiquiris I proceeded to lose my laundry money. About 15 minutes after midnight mom's already hustling me out the door and on to the old casino which now has gaming tables. We didn't gamble much, left there something to 3 in the AM and drove back in the cold nearly freezing rain (gee that was fun)

Today I went to one of my best friends from college's place for the gift exchange. It was supposed to snow. Luckily it didn't. I got her boy the Pirates of the Caribbean game of Life. Now i want it for myself. It was a fun twist on the game.

Now it's snowing. Of course. I was going to go home tomorrow. Maybe Thursday now. Getting a sinus infection or a cold or something. Go me.

New Year's resolutions - be less lazy, get fit.


ETA - I forgot to mention this, my brother accidentally set his cat on fire. He was playing with one of those long lighters for lighting BBQ's (he can't stop playing with fire) and Scrappy, his long haired female, wandered past just as he lit up. The cat's tail went up like a Roman candle and she took off down the hall. Luckily the cat wasn't hurt (heck she has so much fur you can't even see where she lost fur) nor did she burn down the house (and in retrospect we were all giggling at him since no one got hurt)

Yay, 31. I used to whup up in that game. Tried to play it again this past weekend and lost all my mojo.

So far so good. Didn't leave the house today, except to get the plants in since it's supposed to get down to 30 tonight.
My sister and brother-in-law came over for dinner. Other than that, watched football and read "A Clash of Kings."
