OMGWTF Holzer Hospital?
Jan. 17th, 2008 01:10 pmNot only did they lose that one lab I told you about. Holzer's lab TOTALLY lost one of the 24 hour urines (the one that would determine if this was a cancerous tumor or not!) How do you manage to lose two labs?
Needless to say the endocrinologist was no more pleased than I was. Ridiculous. The tumor isn't putting out any cortisol (so I can't blame being fat on that one). But it IS putting out aldosterone which is another hormone that does, among other things, blood pressure (mine isn't high, btw). SO I have to go on a high salt diet for two weeks to see if the tumor can be suppressed or not or if it'll need to come out.
Watch my eyes light up. Eat MORE salt? My favorite flavor in the world? By God just watch me. How much salt doc, huh huh? A teaspoon? Um doc, that's me cutting OUT salt not adding more... He just gives me a look. But on the good side, if you have an aldosterone producing tumor it's non-cancerous so yay.

Date: 2008-01-17 08:50 pm (UTC)But great news on the lack of cortisol, it being benign (those two words next to each other really mess with my mind...) and on getting to eat more salt on doctor's orders - whoohoo!
