Buffy S 3 – First Cut
Buffy lay on her bed, lights out listening to Rod Stewart’s ‘The First Cut is the Deepest,’ on repeat. Angel was really gone. Like the crater left by the exploding high school, he had left an equally huge hole inside her soul. How could he just leave? Didn’t he understand how much she loved him?
Anger slowly trickled in, forcing pain to one side. How dare he just make the decision for them both? Wasn’t a relationship a give and take, not for one person to do all the deciding? If theirs wasn’t a relationship, what the hell was it?
author's note - For the younger ones, Sheryl Crow probably had the biggest success with this but it actually is a Cat Stevens song written way back when I was born. Rod's version was popular there in the 70's.
