Another cut drabble

Steven curled up, pressed to the cool rock of the cave, taking the burn out of his fever. Father had been gone for days. Steven wasn’t supposed to go far from their makeshift home but the seven-year-old had gotten bored. There was so much to do outside so he had ventured forth to play.
He hadn’t known about Tachio Demons violent mating season. Steven glanced at the cuts on his leg, made as he escaped the grappling monsters. Red, poisoned. He shivered head to toe. Would he die here? All Steven could do was be strong and wait for Father.
