My mom is having her knee replaced tomorrow. So any good t houghts you can wing her way I'd appreciate it. We're not expecting any trouble but it is still major surgery.

And how is it mid-term grades are due tomorrow. How the hell did it get to be mid-terms already? I'm running so hard trying to catch my own tail I'm wearing a hole into the floor.

Went out to go to work this morning and found Roy cowering under the wagon. then I saw why. There was a medium sized dog with slight german shepard markings and golden retriever hair. She was cute and friendly but still I scooped up Roy and put him inside for the day. Sadly she was gone when i got back or i would have taken her up to the pound.

Oh and Roy three more points of fact dear boy.
1. I am not making it rain. Go blame Mother Nature
2. Your litterbox is NOT a toy. Don't stand outside it playing in the litter. But thank you for using it. You know you wouldn't have to pee like a racehorse if you didn't drink that many bowls of water. If you didn't just have your blood tested I'd swear you're diabetic
3. But most importantly do NOT hook your nails into the throw rug [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog made me and roll up like a tootsie roll right where i'm working. We both nearly died tonight. I hope you appreciate that.

TV stuff. Looking forward to New Amsterdam (recording it) and very glad to see the end of Sarah Connor's now if it gets renewed I won't feel obligated to watch it any more. Unlike most of my flist I found it disappointing in too many ways to list. At least it did improve as it went

But to TV in general, seen recently on Sarah Connor's AND Dexter, go pick up a damn science book. AB- blood type IS rare. However AB are the universal recipients. So long as it's a negative, they can get ANY blood in a pinch. it's blood type O that can only have O. You've been making this error since MASH in the 70's.

Sheesh, what a stupid mistake to make. Oh and on Battlestar Galactica, they made this big deal about how this baby's blood was special and could cure cancer because it had no antigens. I was watching that going, "it's just type O! what the fuck?".

I'm AB+, and always wonder if it's pretty much pointless for me to give blood.

not pointless at all. you're highly sought after. while the universal recipient (that would be you) can get any kind, a true match is always best.

how would no antigens cure cancer? that makes no sense at all. Gah, where are their science consultants

Science consultants? I'm thinking they have no science consultants.

TV and the movies get everything wrong -- including Hollywood.

Thanks Dan

oh I know. It's just that this is high school basic science. It's just stunning. I swear they even repeat the same words from MASH every time they try it

best of luck for your mom; I'll add her to my prayers tomorrow.

Knee replacements are becoming more and more common these days, as we older gals...well, get older!

I hope everything goes well with your mom. I know that's a very tough recovery.

Poor Roy. You know you could have stopped the rain if you'd just tried. ;-)

thanks. Yes it is a tough recovery. Luckily for her, her son is a physical therapist

Oh i'm sure i could have cast a spell for the rain for him

She's like, your not taking me to the evil pound!

Panther seems to think she can sleep in her litterbox.

She finds it enjoyable for some reason. Kissie will lay in it before Panther does, but if she sees Panther doing it, she won't.

I caught the blood type thing immediately too. My mom is O. My dad is AB. This shouldn't be hard.

That's my problem. It's such common knowledge how this works. It's very hard to get into Dexter or Sarah's angst when they're so wrong (not to mention it blows the whole story line out of the water)

As far as I'm concerned, the Sarah Connor Chronicles is passable Terminator fanfic televised. I doesn't have the quality of the movies, but I don't expect it to.

I have to disagree. I found them all unconvincing and boring and often downright stupid. I couldn't believe that woman as Sarah. John was about the only one I even remotely liked. I won't be tuning back in
