Tara – S 4 – Missing
There had been something missing in her life for a very long time. Tara kept that pain inside of her, hidden from the world, most especially her family. They would never understand the sheer loss she felt at her mother’s death. They went so far as to say the woman had brought it on herself. Maybe that was why Tara had grown so inwardly focused. That didn’t matter any more. Tara had found a new family, one that she could share with, one that would understand her. Maybe she would mourn her mother and have people actually understand the loss.
Faith – S 3 On the Outside looking in
She hated hearing the word, “miss’ directed at her. Usually it was from some high and mighty bitch looking down her nose. As if working in retail should give anyone airs. Faith always felt like she was being looked at like a shoplifter when she heard that word, got that glare. Faith clenched her fist, feeling her newfound power bubbling through her. Yeah maybe she had lifted a thing or two but now she had the power. She had a nice old lady who believed in her. Now if she could only get her watcher to stop calling her Miss.
Connor – in Quor-Toth, That which is Missing
Father thought he didn’t know what he was missing but somehow Steven did have a clue. Occasionally he gleaned from Father’s stories about the ranch that people should have a house, a place to feel safe, people that loved him.
But what Steven missed most was having a sense of self. He was a son of two vampires but what did that mean? Was he a monster? Father said no. He had no place in this world and less in the other. His mother dead and his father would be one day, at his hands. Steven drowned in his loneliness.
