Mixed bag of drabbles
Aug. 24th, 2008 06:26 pmfrom this week's
open_on_sunday challenge
Mixed Crew BtVS/AtS – Post Series – Olympic Inspired
“Wow, he really stuck that landing.”
Hearing her sister’s voice floating out of the alley behind their new headquarters well past midnight, Buffy had to investigate. She found her friends, several new slayers and Angel’s crew gathered in a clump. “What’s going on?”
“Three aerial somersaults and a twist.” Dawn laughed, pointing at Connor who shook his fist triumphantly.
“Huh?”
“Demon Olympics. We call this the skyscraper dive,” Willow offered. “Spike’s next. You missed Angel.”
“And the betting,” Faith smirked. “My money’s on Spike racking himself on the fire escape.”
Buffy palmed her face. “Good God.”
“Slayers are up next.”
And two from previous OOS challenges dusted off for
fantas_magoria which is now up to the Angel episode in Buffy S1
Alterations
Things would never be the same again .The change started when Whistler had shoved his stinking body into a car and forced him to see a sunny young girl as something big darkened her light. Buffy had gotten under his skin somehow without him even talking to her.
Angel had never believed in soul mates, still didn’t, but something about Buffy made him clean himself up. He was falling in love. What he had just done, was proof of that. He killed Darla, the woman he had spent a century with. No going back now. If only he knew what it all meant.
Loss
His hands shook, sloshing pig’s blood on his normally immaculate clothing. He had sweated through them at any rate. How could he have done it? You’re in love with the girl. He screwed his eyes shut tight against the thought. He couldn’t love a Slayer.
And yet he had just slaughtered his sire for her. Darla was dust. A century of living and loving gone in a blink of an eye. She deserted you a century ago. Maybe so but there were still feelings for her inside his heart. Why did he feel almost afraid? What price would he pay for this?
