no rewrites. Had to do it. I decided by revealing something that got revealed in chapter two worked in the short story version but really cut the investigation of the murder short in a novel so I reworked it (and fixed it under the original fiction filter too). But since I got over 500 words out of the rewrite, I don't feel bad.






And how stupidly happy am i that my egg with a villianess mother and was turned into a vampire by Drusilla gendered male. And yes he IS named for Spike...

I'm okay with the early rough drafts because my readers help me fix things. Sometimes i regret it when i see a WTF moment in the text.

One reason I participate in so few writing groups is having someone else read an early draft is paralyzing for me. If I know ahead of time some other human soul might read it, I can't even start writing, or I write something other than what I want to write.

A well-polished draft that in my opinion could be submitted for publication, OTOH, that I will let other people read. Because that's when the feedback, "this isn't ready because of X,Y,Z" is actually news to me.

You may know this, but I figured I'd put it out there in case you didn't: did you know that they have introduced some breed specific actions on Dragon Cave?

For example, your pinks can now influence the gender of unhatched eggs. So if you had a male pink influence an egg, it would greatly increase the changes of that egg hatching male.

Reds incubate eggs, knocking 1 day off the counter, and greens use an earthquake to force eggs into hatching (though it can also kill eggs or have no effect - and the effect goes for all unhatched eggs, not just one). Obviously vampires now bite, and I do believe they are working on more (they were thinking oranges would teleport eggs to a friend's scroll in lieu of the AP toss/trade, for example).

I had that problem. Well, sort of--mine was more an untenable location problem than a plot problem (there is no plot so far, just people talking about themselves). I forcibly relocated everybody in mid-action without going back and changing the incorrect setting. I can do that later (if re-reading the mess I wrote doesn't make me too nauseated to tackle it). NaNo is liberating that way. Normally I'd go back and waste weeks fixing stuff.

there is that. I'm trying not to fix the little things. I thought that was major enough to piss with then I remembered someone also wanted me to write the letter in Declan's voice I might still do that merely because it would give me more words
