Oddly today I feel okay
Nov. 14th, 2022 10:09 pmIn spite of work getting tense, the end of the semester rolling up on me like a freight train and 1001 deadlines nipping at my heels. The weather has decided to stay cold but that's okay. The cold doesn't bother me. Weather bouncing around does.
I still have tests to grade. I am fearing that because this is literally the hardest test I give in the fall.
I wrote like the wind during the tests so yay for me. Also the villain of the piece is talking. I'm not sure we're still in her head enough but it's so much better than it was. I do think this novel is finally truly gelling. If I DO get it done by next summer I hope I can find some readers for it. Alpha readers would be great (my critique group are technically that I guess) Beta readers always welcome.
Thanks again guys for reading along. I SO appreciate it. Holy crap I wrote nearly 4K today. I'm now within striking distance of being on track.
Snippet -Chrissy ran from the chaos in the street, shaking herself. The barghests didn’t frighten her but what she had witnessed from the team had. Sloane had never mentioned animal people to her. Was he a freaking werewolf? What did that mean for her if he was? Could he track her by scent? No, he wouldn’t even know to do so. They don’t know about you!
She tripped, nearly went sprawling on the slate sidewalk before catching herself. Chrissy slowed down. All she needed was to break an ankle here. She pulled her hooded jacket off and tied it around her waist. It had been too hot for it but she had to keep her face out of sight. She’d never been more glad she had listened to Sloane and had taken that precaution. It would be bad enough to be recognized on the street by those guys but to have that monster man after her? No thanks.
Wait, why is he with them? Shouldn’t he be on Sloane’s side? None of this makes sense.
