Wayfair made the list
Sep. 5th, 2024 10:42 pmSo I bought a tv stand and paid extra for help building it since it weighs about 120 pounds. It's too much for me by myself. I arranged for it on Tuesday. I come home from helping the guy who's taken over my nursing class and there's the fucking box on my porch! I lose it. My porch is 14 inches below my door so now I have to deadlift this bullshit into my house. I can't do that.
I call them up and she goes oh...well unlike your last purchase (several years ago, the convertable couch in the second bedroom) this is 'small furniture' so the people who'll build it are not who delivers it. We use FedEx. WHERE was this in any part of the purchasing process? I'm partially disabled dudes, how do you think I'm getting this in my house? Can't you ask someone? NO I live alone and my neighbors are all retirees. I did ask WHY is this not clear anywhere on their site. She couldn't answer. I said come get it. I'm mad at you. That'll be 60$ to return it.
Okay fuck you, I'll keep it. I'll probably never order from you again too. Still furious I leave it on my porch (because who the hell could steal it?) and go to the library for the art/music thing.
Well the artist was someone I've seen around and he didn't talk. The Columbus Symphony musicians were only two young women (I got the impression the celloist should have been there) a violinist and a viola player and they were beautiful. I loved it. I would love to go hear the full symphony again (and I did just learn there will be a Columbus Italian festival) .
Came back, opened the box and pulled in piece by piece until the box was light enough for me to muscle it into my living room where I'll trip over it for the next four days. Whee.

fandomgiftbasket has SO many empty baskets or ones with just one. I have two! How did that happen. This is the problem with multifandom ones, so many fandoms and often so very little overlap between the requesters. Check it out. Make someone a treat
