Fannish things

Let me start with this. My friend Betty isn't just good for writing links. She's very talented at creating cross-stitch patterns. You can her stuff here. both geeky and otherwise.
dragonydreams asked for this.
And I was too exhausted yesterday to do a fan rec Thursday so have it on Friday. I received three really fun fanfics via
comment_fic this week.
Relaxing. Lucifer
The World That We Knew. Teen Wolf Derek/Stiles (I don't actually know this fandom but this was good)
Malcolm and the Great Outdoors Prodigal Son, Malcolm and JT. I was thrilled to get this one seeing as the show is only 3 weeks old and I only tossed out the prompt on a whim since SO many of my fandoms are old and don't get a lot of fills at the site.
So let's talk new TV? Have any of the new shows caught your eye? Why?
I've taped a few episodes of Evil but I haven't watched them nor have I watched Batwoman yet but I'm looking forward to both.
I did see the premiere episode of Emergence (and taped the others, omg I'm so old. Taped? recorded, whatever) It reminded me of The Passage in some ways (Older cop figure, young girl with special powers). I liked it but didn't fall in love with it (yet)
Stumptown, same deal. It was interesting. I recorded more but I'm not sure how I feel about her. One of the things I DO like is the fight scenes are more realistic. I hate it when you see these slender little women tossing a 250 mountain of muscle around like he's a pillow. (I can handle it with superheroes for the obvious reason). She gets beat up in these episode and half I've managed to get through (OMG I need more time) and that feels more real to her. Her PTSD feels real too as it manifests in drinking and one night stands that make her feel a bit bad about herself. I'm on the fence though. We'll see.
Prodigal Son - It's been quite a few years since I've fallen for a show so fast (Lucifer was the last time) Let's be honest, if someone said CoM write a character who interests you, I'd have created Malcolm Bright (Hell, my planned Nano before I decided to go rogue was about the son of a serial killer!) I find broken men with PTSD fascinating (in fiction at least). Yeah some of it is ridiculous and that part does annoy me but I very much like Malcolm and Gil. JT and Dani need a bit of fleshing out. Dad and Mom are both creepy in different ways and that's fascinating.
Stumptown, Prodigal Son and Emergence are all doing well in the ratings so there's that.
The one premiere I hated was Bless The Harts. I love animated stuff but this was just awful.
And
spikesgirl58 has a Halloween treat meme going. I've done things like that in the past. I would love to do it again but the reality is I don't have the time this month. Pouts.
